Before you go ahead and install Exchange SP2, read this link...and really read it....you'll need to add some Windows Server 2003 hotfixes before you install the Exchange piece...

 

Also, if you can't mount the Information Store afterwards, check to see if you added the UCE Content Filter object correctly...or if you even need it all...
